When in the Eighth Curriculum Reform in China people put forward the Inquiring learning. Under the atmosphere of widely developing Inquiry learning, some Chinese educational scholars study the theory of Inquiry learning from different angle. With the social developing and the impact of Western education reform, Chinese Educational scholars began to pay attention to the theory of Critical thinking theory. They hold that Critical thinking is a more advanced ability of thinking and an ability that one must own in life and work.Therefore, they wildly research the critical thoughts from theory to practice.On the foundation of deeply research of Inquiring learning and Critical thinking theory, and basing on the theory of Dewey's reflective thinking theory and of Bruner's discovery learning, this thesis grasp the status of the development of critical thinking by conducts questionnaires to students form five junior high schools in Beijing, Heilongjiang, Liaoning Province and Combines some typical cases of Inquiring learning. Now, here comes the conclusion that the whole student's critical thinking development is imbalance in middle school, and the distribution of total score has a gap in the number and percentage. And the student's critical thinking development is imbalance in seven dimensions. Truth-seeking, Open-mindedness, Maturity are high, but the contrary Systematic, Analyticity Self-confidence Inquisitiveness are low.According to the situation of the middle school student's critical thinking and combineing with the hindered factors of critical thinking development in the Inquiry learning environment, this thesis gives some strategies of training critical thinking to teachers teaching junior high school students.
