In current society, grandparenting is an inevitable phenomenon that exists universally in urban and rural areas of China, and it will continue for a long time. However, the inevitable occurrence of that will also bring about a series of problems, which will have a certain impact on the elderly, children, and even the whole family. At present, the research focus of the scholars from all walks of life on rural grandparenting is mainly on its impact on left-behind children and family intergenerational relationships. There are few studies on the rural elderly who give child care. Moreover,in the current society,China's rural areas are in the process of change and development. Many of them have all had an impact on the rural elderly who raise their grandchildren, such as,the gradual development of rural land reform and modernization, the rapid development of Internet technology and electronic equipment, and the new family marriage model of young couples living in their families in turn. Therefore, this study relies on S Township in Jiangsu Province and uses the in-depth interview as the main research method,to study the dilemma of the elderly who raise their grandchildren in S Township, and to analyze the main reasons for their difficulties under the rural changes. This study will also explore the social support path to solve these problems. This study conducted a one-to-one in-depth interview and analysis of 14 people, including the elderly, young parents, and other family members in the grandparenting families of S Township.According to the research, the rural elderly are faced with four main difficulties when they are raising their grandchildren under the rural changes.First, the rural elderly are faced with contradiction between agricultural labor and raising their grandchildren.Second, they are confronted with family intergenerational conflicts.Third, they are faced with the difficulties of academic counseling for their grandchildren.Fourth, the sense of helplessness and loneliness of the rural elderly in raising their grandchildren is obvious.Based on the above analysis and the guidance of social support theory, the author tries to propose the following solutions.First of all,it is important to enhance the elderly's adaptability to social changes through the community public welfare lectures and services.Secondly, through rural family social work services, intergenerational conflicts can be alleviated.Thirdly,it is necessary to help young parents grow up and take on their responsibilities by using Internet technology. Finally,it will be helpful to enhance the professional service capabilities of rural community workers.
