With the rapid development of science and technology,the advent of the era of knowledge economy and the acceleration of career replacement,higher requirements have been put forward for talents and challenges have been issued to schools.It is difficult to adapt to the development of the society with only knowledge or skills,so schools are required to train talents according to the needs of the society.Schools began to focus on professional education to the general education curriculum,training well-rounded people.This paper uses literature analysis,questionnaire survey and case analysis to analyze the general education curriculum of S university,understand the current situation of general education curriculum of S university,find out the problems,and reform the general education curriculum according to the core qualities of college students.The results show that students in S university have a poor understanding of the cultivation objectives of general education courses.In terms of course setting,the proportion of credits of public compulsory courses is high,and the scope of students' independent course selection is small.The content is bland and simplistic;Teachers mainly teach,but will carry out group discussion,debate and other activities.The evaluation method is not perfect,which is mainly based on examination.The general education curriculum is reformed from the following aspects,the curriculum goal is reconstructed,and the core quality of college students is the target.Reconstruct the course structure: break the discipline barrier,strengthen the connection;Consider the relationship between the proportion of elective courses and required courses and between general education and professional education;To redefine the course content:to focus on multidisciplinary knowledge in a wide range of fields;Reform of teaching reform methods: to cultivate ability as the goal;Establishing a special safeguard system;Formulate a reasonable evaluation content.
