With the continuous improvement of digital technology,digital reading has become an inevitable trend,and how to improve the digital reading effect has become an urgent problem to be solved.Some researchers have pointed out that the media will have an impact on the reading effect of learners,as well as on meta-cognitive understanding in the process of reading.As "digital natives",middle school students grow up with digital media.Will digital reading affect the reading effect and meta-comprehension of middle school students? Can the inclusion of reading strategy support,such as the graphic organizer strategy,improve the digital reading performance and meta-comprehension monitoring of secondary school students?Based on the current research status of digital reading and graphic organizers,this study designed two experiments based on multimedia learning cognitive theory,multimedia picture linguistics theory,cognitive load theory and other theories.Experiment 1: explore the influence of media on the reading effect,experience and meta-comprehension of middle school students in different grades and whether there are differences.The media methods included paper and digital(computer).The subjects chose two classes in grade one and grade one,with 30 students in each class.Experiment 2: explore the influence of graphic organizer and media on the reading effect,experience and meta-comprehension of high school students.Experiments to senior students as the subjects,the media and graphic organizers as independent variables,way of media including print and digital(computer),graphic organizers way includes a graphic organizer(plain text),providing a graphic organizer(provided by researchers,attached to the above text),homemade graphic organizer(made by the participants themselves).To explore whether the addition of graphic organizer can promote the cognitive processing depth of high school students in digital reading,so as to improve the digital reading effect.Based on the statistical results of the two experiments,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Digital reading is better than paper reading.(2)the accuracy of meta-comprehension of middle school students' reading in paper condition is higher than that in digital condition.(3)the immersion degree of middle school students in paper reading is higher than that in digital reading.(4)under the condition of self-made graphic organizer,digital reading effect is better than paper reading effect.(5)under the condition of self-made graphic organizer,the accuracy ofmeta-comprehension of digital reading is higher than that of paper-based reading.(6)under the condition of self-made graphic organizer,digital reading immersion is higher than paper reading immersion.(7)media and graphic organizers had no effect on cognitive load and reading fatigue.Based on the conclusion of the experiment,some Suggestions are put forward for middle school students to learn by digital media.In digital learning,graphic organizer strategy can be used to assist reading,and self-made graphic organizer is the best strategy,which can promote students to actively participate in cognitive processing and promote deep understanding of text.
