With the continuous advancement of the new curriculum reform,and the college entrance examination reform to the geographical basic education opportunities and requirements.In this paper,the ARCS motivation model of educational psychology is applied to investigate and analyze the application status of geographic learning strategies of junior high school students by questionnaire and data analysis,classification,gender,grade and school.The survey found that junior middle school students' geography learning strategies were not applied frequently,obtained in few ways and lacked initiative.Based on the investigation and analysis of the current situation of junior high school students' geographical learning strategies,the learning strategies designed according to the four dimensions of ARCS motivation model are introduced into the geographical learning process of junior high school students to stimulate,awaken and inspire the motivation of students to learn geography,so as to explore the learning strategies that stimulate and maintain the enthusiasm of junior high school students in learning geography,provide teachers with teaching methods with reference value,and then help students find effective learning methods.The paper is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the purpose,background,method and significance of the research,and expounds the analysis of learning strategies at home and abroad as well as ARCS motivation model.In the second part,ARCS motivation model and learning strategy are defined and theoretical basis is clarified.The third part is the investigation and research on the application of geography learning strategies of junior high school students,analyzing the existing problems and the reasons for the influence;In the fourth part,according to the ARCS motivation model,teachers worked out scientific and feasible countermeasures for junior high school students' application of geography learning strategies from four factors: A-attention,R-relevance,C-confidence and S-satisfaction.The fifth part is an application example of ARCS motivation model in this aspect,and evaluates it by mid-term grade change ofexperimental class and control class.The sixth part is the summary of the whole paper,pointing out the shortcomings of this research and the expectation of future research.
