Study On Rural Gentrification Process And Influencing Factors Of Traditional Villages

In 1964,Glass,a British sociologist,first proposed the concept of gentrification.Gentrification has gradually become a research focus and frontier field in western geography,sociology,economics and other fields.One of the important manifestations is that gentility is no longer confined to urban areas.In the process of continuous transformation,development and reconstruction of rural areas,social and spatial changes similar to gentility of urban space also occur.In the 1990 s,the concept of gentility began to be introduced into the field of rural research.As a special type of gentrification,rural gentrification is a complex movement that "the middle class moves towards the social diversity and aesthetic hybridity of rural areas",and it is an important driving force to promote the rural social and economic reform and change the development model.Rural areas in China in the 21 st century,especially the traditional village area,with its profound cultural accumulation,peculiar historical atmosphere and beautiful natural scenery,migration,attracting more and more middle class is brought for the development of the traditional village area "new class,new culture and new space" of production and consumption,and makes the country gentleman in a series of phenomenon.Through literature analysis,it is found that the existing literature on rural gentrification in China mostly studies the rural gentrification of urban villages,but there are few studies on the process of rural gentrification of traditional villages.Therefore,based on the traditional village Xixinan ancient village as an example,the integrated use of gentleman theory and qualitative and quantitative research methods to explore Xixinan village gentleman development stage,performance characteristics and influence factors,and to deepen the context of China's existing knowledge of the traditional village country gent,explore the ancient village to relationship regional system evolution and a number of characteristics and law of social culture changes.This paper is divided into three parts:In the first part,the literature at home and abroad is reviewed and the theoreticalbasis is analyzed,which is reflected in the first chapter and the second chapter.This paper discusses the research background and significance of rural gentrification,comprehensively and systematically analyzes and summarizes the research results at home and abroad,and expounds the general situation of case development,research methods,data sources and research framework.The second part,which is the main part of the whole paper,studies the gentrification process of Xixinan village and its influencing factors,including chapter3 and chapter 4.Firstly,this paper describes the development stage of Xixinan gentrification according to the time sequence,and then analyzes the performance characteristics of Xixinan's gentrification through qualitative analysis and grounded theory,which mainly includes four aspects: population increase,landscape change,cultural transformation and economic transformation.The study found that the gentry groups in Xixinan village mainly included immigrants,returning immigrants,tourists and local villagers who were "marginalized",and the population and social structure of the village became more diversified.The immigrants' pursuit of creating "rural idyllic life",as well as the new aesthetic style and lifestyle,promoted the change of Xixinan village's housing landscape and the cultural shift of local villagers.The consumption preference of the urban middle class and tourists makes the rural products in Xixinan more commoditized.The rise of second residence and rural tourism accommodation leads to the rapid rise of housing prices in the village.With the advancement of gentrification,Xixinan village has gradually expanded its spatial form and improved its physical environment,but "enclave communities" have emerged between new immigrants and local villagers.Then,this paper analyzes the influence factors of rural gentrification in Xixinan from three aspects: consumption(demand),production(supply)and other structural factors by using in-depth interviews and field investigation data.It is found that the main influencing factors of consumption-oriented rural gentrification are the existence of new cultural class and the change of middle class consumption pattern.The main influencing factors of production-oriented rural gentrification are the emergence of rent gap and the production of gentrified space.Other structural factors lay the foundation for rural gentrification,including policy drive,land system reform and improvement of rural external environment.The third part includes chapter 5.Is the conclusion and discussion part of this chapter.Firstly,it summarizes the process and influencing factors of ruralgentrification in Xixinan,and then discusses the "gentrification" type of rural gentrification,the "replacement" problem caused by rural gentrification and the role of the government in the process of rural gentrification based on the Chinese background.Finally,it points out the deficiency of the research and puts forward the main research direction in the future.
