The personality trait of sensation seeking reached its peak in the middle of adolescence. The Dual System Model pointed out that high sensation seeking is the reason for adolescents to frequently take risky behaviors.Middle adolescents are students in junior high school,so junior high school students are A high incidence of risky behavior.Hazard perception is the ability of individuals to recognize and respond to road dangers in a timely manner, and has a significant predictive effect on road dangerous behaviors.According to the two-stage processing model of hazard perception, this study divides the hazard perception into two stages: hazard perception and behavioral response. When junior high school students cross the street, the different roles of sensation seeking level in the two different processing stages of hazard perception and behavioral response are compared.Study 1 Junior High School Students' Sensation Seeking and Road UseThe junior high school students were tested using the "Sensation Seeking Scale for Primary and Middle School Students" and the Chinese version of the "Adolescent Road User Behavior Questionnaire",using 3(grades: junior one, junior two,and junior three)× 2(sex:male and female)The two-factor experimental design of the study found that the level of junior high school students' sensation seeking gradually increased;boys showed more dangerous behaviors than girls;the higher the grade, the more dangerous behaviors;sensation seeking and unsafe crossing behavior and Dangerous behaviors like playing on the road are highly relevant.Junior high school students with high sensory seeking and low sensory seeking were selected as experimental samples.Study 2 Effect of Sensation Seeking on Hazard Perception in Junior High School Students' Crossing BehaviorEye movement technology is used to explore the role of sensation seeking level in the hazard perception stage.A three-factor experimental design using 3(grades: first, second, third)x 2(sex: male, female)x 2(sensation seeking level: high, low).Participants watched 12 videos of real traffic situations and recorded eye movement data.It was found that girls and high sensation seeking junior high school students identified danger more quickly and paid more attention to danger.Study 3 Effect of Sensation Seeking on Behavioral Response in Junior High School Students' Crossing BehaviorA three-factor experimental design using 3(grades: first, second, third)x 2(sex: male, female)x 2(sensation seeking level: high, low).Participants watched 20 videos of real traffic situations and reported whether they were crossing the street in this situation.Based on theindicators of signal detection theory, they found that the junior high school students with low sensation seeking were more sensitive and the judgment criteria were looser. The main research conclusions of this paper are as follows:1.At the junior high school level, the level of sensation seeking increases with the growth of grades. On the road, boys have more dangerous behaviors, and the higher grades have more dangerous behaviors. The sensation seeking and unsafe crossing behaviors and on the roads and dangerous behaviors such as playfulness are highly relevant;2.At the stage of hazard perception, compared with girls, boys perceive danger more slowly and pay less attention;compared with junior high school students seeking low sensation, high sensation seeking junior high school students, especially those with high sensation seeking boys perceive danger more quickly and are willing to pay more attention to danger;3.At the behavioral response stage, compared with low sensation seeking junior high school students, high sensation seeking ones are less sensitive, have stricter judgment standards, and are more likely to make dangerous decisions when crossing the road.
