Research On The Cultivation Of New People In The Era Of Colleges And Universities

Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China,General Secretary Xi Jinping has put forward and answered the fundamental question that colleges and universities should cultivate what kind of people,how to and for whom to cultivate those people,standing at the height of the cause of the Party,the socialist cause,and the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation.In the report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,Xi Jinping clearly proposed the task of cultivating the people in the new age who can shoulder great task of national rejuvenation.In order to cultivate the qualified builders and reliable successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics and complete the fundamental mission of establishing morality,colleges and universities must implement the requirements of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core,keeping and bearing the mission in mind.Based on the perspective needed by college students for growing into talents,this paper explores and studies on the major issue of the cultivation of people in the new age by colleges and universities.Except the introduction and conclusion,the paper consists of four parts:The first part is mainly to explain and define the connotation of the people in the new age as the logical starting point of this paper,including the definition,qualities and basic requirements of the people in the new age.The basic requirements refers to the quality system of people in the new age,namely: the believers of ideals and beliefs,the undertaker of national renaissance,the explorer of science and culture,the pioneer of innovation and creation,the devotee who loves the Party and nation and the promoter of the traditional virtues.Besides,the first part also demonstrates the significance of the cultivation of people in the new age by colleges and universities.The second part introduces the theoretical basis of the cultivation of the people in the new age by colleges and universities,including Marx and Engels' thoughts on human freedom and comprehensive development;Lenin's theory of cultivating new socialist people and the important exposition of Chinese Communists on cultivating socialist successors.The third part probes into the advantages and problems of the cultivation of the people in the new age by colleges and universities.It is concluded that colleges and universities have four advantages: the political advantage of the Party's overall leadership,the policy advantage of the construction of the “double first-rate” strategy dominated by government,the function advantage of the development of colleges and universities and the the environment advantage of the development of college students created by society.Besides,the problems that colleges and universities have in cultivating the people in the new age should also be concentrated.The problems are as follows: the inadequate educational mechanisms,the inadequate role of the main position of ideological and political theory courses,and the professional qualities of some teachers to be not high enough.The fourth part puts forward the countermeasures to improve the cultivation of the people in the new age by colleges and universities.There are four main aspects:perfecting the mechanism of educating new people in the new age,promoting the innovation of ideological and political theory courses,deepening the construction of teachers,and guiding college students to exert their self-education functions.
