Developing students' key competence is the focus of the new round of teaching reform.Judging from the current theory and practice of education reform,project-based learning is an effective way to cultivate and form discipline literacy as well as comprehensive ability. As project learning upholds the concept of ‘learning by doing',allowing each student to develop the ability to understand and apply chemical knowledge to solve real problems. It can help to use chemistry to understand, analyze, and solve social and academic problems that related to chemistry, thereby achieving the way of ‘knowledge, ability, literacy ' as an integrated teaching method.According to the ‘Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening the Curriculum Reform and Implementing the Fundamental Tasks of Lideshuren',the key competencies of all students needs to be improved. It should from the perspective of promoting the well-rounded of students, guiding them to develop comprehensive capabilities. Therefore, the application of projectbased learning has a significant impact on high school chemistry teaching. This research combines theory with empirical research to study the project-based learning in senior high school chemistry classrooms.Firstly,to understand the current research progress and the focus of research on project-based learning through early research, and to summarize the research perspectives as well as research methods of project-based learning from early scholars.Based on previous studies to determine the aims and research method of this study. Then,in other to understand the actual status of project-based learning in senior high school chemistry classroom, via interviewing teachers and sending questionnaire to students for those who work and study in senior high school.Focusing on the teaching principles and steps of project-based learning, aiming at the current situation and existing problems of project-based learning in senior high school chemistry, this paper develops and analyzes the project-based learning in senior high school chemistry. Finally, through experimental research, the teaching experiments of traditional teaching and project-based learning were carried out in two parallel classes of a senior high school in Zhuhai City. Both the interview results on the students and academic performance are used to analyze the teaching effect of students' knowledge mastery, ability improvement and literacy development.Experimental data show that project-based learning has a significant effect on both promoting students 'chemistry learning and enhancing their interest in chemistry.Integrating project-based learning into real situations in high school chemistry classrooms is conducive to developing students' ‘induction and representation capabilities',‘discovery',‘ability of asking chemical questions',‘ability of performing experiment and scientific exploring ',ability of analying and solving practical chemical problems ',and ‘the quality of chemical will '.Students 'group cooperative learning in project activities is also conducive to the development of students' cooperative communication skills, information and media literacy,as well as organizational planning skills.By mastering the necessary knowledge, improving their comprehensive ability, and cultivating the quality of chemical will, there are conducive to the development of students' core literacy. At the end of this paper, based on the experimental results, the project will summarize the implementation of project-based learning and proposes some recommendations. Finally, with reviewing the experimental research, summarize and reflect this study, which will give some guide for future study.
