Cross-cultural adaptation refers to the adaptation of social members from different cultural backgrounds to new cultures after entering a strange cultural environment.Teachers of Chinese as a foreign language will inevitably experience cross-cultural adaptation when they go abroad to teach Chinese.The induction period is the key period for the change of teachers' roles.The cross-cultural adaptation of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language in the induction period affects the quality of teaching and life of teachers,and determines whether teachers can develop professionally and long-term in the future.Therefore,it is of practical significance to study the intercultural adaptation of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language during their tenure.Based on the theory of cross-cultural adaptation and the theory of teacher's induction adaptation,this paper takes literature analysis,questionnaire survey,in-depth interview and field observation as the research methods,and takes the teachers of Chinese as a foreign language in Pahoa School of Indonesia within three years as the research object.The study is from four aspects: the personal situation,work adaptation,cultural adaptation and psychological adaptation to understand the intercultural adaptation of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language.Through the analysis of the survey and interview results,it is concludedthat the factors affecting the intercultural adaptation of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language in Indonesia can be divided into external and internal factors.External factors include political factors and social security,social support,changes in working and living environment.And internal factors include differences in individual characteristics,language proficiency,and cross-cultural experience and training.Finally,combined with the influencing factors of cross-cultural adaptation,this paper puts forward feasible countermeasures and schemes from three aspects: the dispatching units should set up special cross-cultural adaptation training,improve the management and care system in the later period;the dispatching schools should increase the professional development support for new teachers,do pre-service training of the courses,the scientific and democratic arrangement of teaching activities,and the satisfy the teacher's teaching needs as far as possible;the teachers of Chinese as a foreign language should understand and learn the culture in advance,respect cultural differences,improve their communicative competence,and learn to reflect and rebuild.The innovation of this paper lies in the combination of qualitative research and quantitative research,the object of study is all types of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language,the object of study is in the special stage of induction.
