| The rapid development of China's economy and the unique charm of Chinese culture,and the accelerating process of the globalization and dissemination of Chinese and Chinese culture have attracted many researchers' and scholars' attention.However,there are few studies on the teaching of Chinese culture in Australia,and the training of Chinese teaching assistants in Australia has seldom been studied.The main duties of Chinese teaching assistant volunteers in Australia are to assist local teachers to teach Chinese culture and organize Chinese cultural activities.However,the training of these volunteers are mainly focused on the teaching methods of Chinese language elements.And relevant research is focusing on the fields of Chinese teaching and second language acquisition.Studies on Chinese culture teaching and cross-cultural communication,in Australia,are insufficient.Under this premise,combining specific cases in the primary and secondary schools in Victoria,to study their cultural teaching and cultural activity organization might be useful,which may has important practical significance for improving the teaching and promoting the spread of Chinese culture overseas.In order to analyze the present situation of Chinese culture teaching in Australia's primary and secondary schools,this thesis analyzes the current situation from the macro and micro perspectives.It has focused on analyzing the language policy,the syllabus of Chinese teaching and the survey reports of volunteers and teaching cases in Australia.And the following problems have been found: due to insufficient training and lack of relevant theoretical guidance,the Chinese teaching assistant volunteers have some shortcomings in cultural teaching,communication and cultural activity design,such as weak cultural consciousness of both sides of the teaching,lack of aesthetic experience in the teaching process,and insufficient professional ability of the teachers,which have resulted in a series of weaknesses in cultural content selection,classroom and activity management,teaching methods and cross-cultural communication.Based on what have been mentioned above,this thesis points out the importance of cultural consciousness and aesthetic experience in cross-cultural teaching and communication.Three suggestions have been proposed.Firstly,the content in the teaching and the spread of culture choice should keep in pace with the times and should spread the contemporary mainstream culture.Secondly,the experiential teaching method can be adopted.Thirdly,aesthetic experience and activity management should be strengthened.Finally,the importance of the following macro policies was pointed out.On one hand,to strengthen and build China-Australia bilateral cooperation system is mentioned.On the other hand,to conduct training courses for teachers' cultural teaching needs.And the suggestions and implications mentioned above try to provide some insights for the study of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,thus promoting the cause of Chinese language international education and Chinese cultural communication. |
