In recent years,design thinking has been increasingly mentioned and placed in an important position by the engineering education field.Stanford Design Institute,Olin College of Technology and many other foreign universities have put design thinking into practical teaching to improve students' engineering cognitive literacy.China's theory and teaching practice in this area are still in the exploration stage.This article aims at engineering cognitive education for engineering students,especially freshmen through the development of teaching framework and teaching tools based on design thinking to guide and supervise the innovation and collaboration process in engineering practice.The main contributions and innovations of this article are as follows:Firstly,this thesis proposes an engineering cognitive teaching framework based on design thinking tools,and describes it step by step:The first point is to select the four core design thinking tools of sympathetic map,HMW,four-quadrant method,and business model canvas,and analyze the application logic of each tool.It solves the problem of how and what design thinking tools should be selected.The second is to combine the engineering cognitive training goals,the practical process of design thinking and key elements,and insert the selected ones in time series in the CDIO teaching mode.Design thinking tools provide a teaching path.Tshe third is to select the introductory course of information and communication engineering(hereinafter referred to as the introductory course)of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications as an example,describe the teaching framework in combination with the application scenarios,and provide reference for the arrangement of teaching hours in teaching.This part of work enriches the theoretical basis of design thinking applied in engineering cognitive education to a certain extent.Secondly,this article designs and develops a web-based online collaborative teaching tool--Design Thinking Toolbox,which supports multi-person online collaborative editing,enriching the offline single teaching scenarios described above.On the one hand,a team communication mechanism based on "items" is proposed in the core function module "My Group",which can assist teachers to guide students how to fully and effectively collaborate.On the other hand,other functional modules "design methods" improve the teaching content of design thinking,and "creative communities" precipitate students' design thinking works,as far as possible to make up for the inadequate teacher guidance in offline teaching scenarios.Finally,this article tests and validates the Design Thinking Toolbox.The results show that the system is available and relatively easy to use.At the same time,the small amount of data collected is presented in the form of group interaction frequency charts,which proves that the Design Thinking Toolbox can also play an online advantage to monitor and record the student collaboration process,assist teachers to understand student performance,and discover potential in the teaching process Problem,these preliminary explorations have certain reference value for subsequent research in the field.
