With the rapid development of steam education,engineering education has become particularly important.In the 2017 general technology curriculum standard,engineering thinking is regarded as one of the core disciplines,which shows that it is of great significance to cultivate students' engineering thinking ability in high school.Based on the field investigation of Liulin middle school in Zhuoni County,this study finds that the students' engineering thinking ability is relatively weak in general,and there is a lack of specific teaching mode and method for cultivating students' en gineering thinking in actual teaching activities,and there is a lack of empirical experience and reference,so it is imperative to cultivate students' engineering thinking ability.As a new thinking tool and learning tool,mind map can show the image of students' thinking process when it is used in the general technology classroom,so as to stimulate students' thinking and help students to clarify the engineering thinking process.Starting from practical problems,following the process of technical design,combining with the development stage of engineering thinking,and making full use of the characteristics of mind map,this study designed the activity framework of applying mind map to cultivate engineering thinking of senior high school students.The framework is divided into four consecutive engineering thinking stages: engineering decision-making,engineering design,engineering construction and engineering evaluation.The mind map is flexibly applied to each stage,and the corresponding teaching objectives and corresponding engineering thinking training objectives are formulated,and the more detailed activities of teachers and students are designed.This research takes two parallel science class students of grade two in Liulin middle school as the research object.Through the research method of contrast experiment,we use the activity frame designed in the experimental class to teach,and construct the thought map by group online cooperation,which creates the information-based learning environment,and promotes the effective development of engineering thinking of general technology class in senior high school.The independent variable is the use of mind mapping in controlled trials.After three times of practical teaching of engineering projects,the data of experimental class and control class were collected through three ways: engineering thinking level test,students' mutual evaluation of engineering process record sheet andstudents' self-evaluation self-efficacy questionnaire.From the four dimensions of engineering decision-making,engineering design,engineering construction and engineering evaluation,it is found that the scores of three kinds of data in the experimental class are higher than those in the control class.It is concluded that the application of mind mapping to cultivate engineering thinking of senior high school students can effectively promote the cultivation of engineering thinking level,engineering thinking process and self-efficacy of engineering thinking,but there are slight differences in the promotion of different stages of engineering thinking.This study verifies the effectiveness of the application of mind mapping to cultivate the engineering thinking activity design of senior high school students,and provides practical reference for the general technology teachers to cultivate the engineering thinking of students.
