Research On The Present Situation And Sustainable Development Of Contemporary Student Reading Clubs In Jiangsu Universities

The activities carried out by college reading clubs are one of the main forms of college reading promotion.However,the college reading clubs' current development in mainland China is not perfect,and the activities carried out are mostly singular.University reading promotion is inseparable from the power of school reading clubs.It is not only a space for expanding the knowledge of college students,but also an important support for university libraries.Therefore,reading clubs are responsible for cooperating with and serving the development of university reading promotion.The paper focuses on the reading societies of 77 undergraduate universities in Jiangsu Province,introduces the concept of branch reading promotion,analyzes the current situation of reading societies of college students in Jiangsu Province,and then proposes a sustainable development strategy.First of all,this paper uses the literature research method to summarize the current status of reading clubs in universities,and points out that there have been many studies that equate "reading clubs" with "reading associations" to carry out research,resulting in confusion and lack of rigor.Secondly,this paper uses various search engines,databases,and social media to collect information of 77 undergraduate univercities reading clubs in Jiangsu Province,and screens them.The concept of reading promotion in branch schools,through interviews to interview the heads of different types of college reading clubs,summed up the relationship and existing problems between the activities of college reading clubs in our country and reading promotion in university libraries.The blurring of the main line of leadership with the university library has hindered the reading promotion process of universities.Thirdly,this paper selects a comprehensive university,a science and engineering college,a normal college,a medical college,and an art college out of 77 undergraduate colleges in Jiangsu Province.The methods of the activity,analyze the advantages of each case,summarize the inspiration and thinking brought by these excellent cases.Finally,the paper aims at the cooperative relationship between college students' reading clubs and university libraries,taking into account the three perspectives of reading clubs,libraries,and branch campus reading promotion,and proposes a comprehensive and specific cooperation strategy from five aspects to promote campus reading promotion.Including clarify the operating mechanism and determine Top-level leadership of the library;university libraries help reading clubs to carry out reading promotion activities;reading clubs participate in university library reading promotion activities;use branch reading promotion concepts to help univercity reading promotion activities;establish college reading club alliances.
