In this study,through the analysis of structural chemistry college entrance examination questions,simulation test questions and access to structural chemistry,spatial reasoning related literature,and combined with my own teaching experience:the concept of spatial reasoning ability of chemistry is defined,the ability framework of chemical spatial reasoning was constructed,and ccording to the framework,a set of test papers is designed.The students in grade three of senior high school were tested.The data obtained after the test were coded and analyzed statistically,the overall performance of students' chemical spatial reasoning ability,the performance of different ability dimensions,and the performance of different levels were obtained,the differences of students' performance were analyzed.Finally,some suggestions for teachers' teaching were put forward.The evaluation results show that:(1)The overall level of senior high school students' chemical spatial reasoning ability is not high,the lower the students' academic level,the weaker the chemical spatial reasoning ability.There are significant differences in the ability of chemical spatial reasoning among students with different academic levels.(2)The development of senior high school students' chemical spatial reasoning ability is not balanced,the performance of each dimension from good to poor is as follows:Decomposition and combination ability of spatial graphics greater than Spatial abstraction and generalization reasoning ability greater than Reasoning ability of spatial location relation greater than Spatial visual reasoning ability.Among them,the score rate of spatial visual reasoning ability is at the failing level.(3)There is little difference in the level of two-dimensional spatial reasoning ability among senior high school students,but there is a big difference in the performance of three-dimensional spatial reasoning ability and the complex spatial reasoning ability of combining two-dimensional and three-dimensional.(4)Senior high school students' ability of chemical spatial reasoning is related to gender.Girls' ability of chemical spatial reasoning is weaker than boys' and there is a very significant difference between boys and girls.(5)Senior high school students' ability of spatial reasoning in chemistry is related to other subjects' achievements,showing moderate positive correlation with mathematics,physics and biology,and weak positive correlation with Chinese and English subjects.
