A Study On The Relationship Between Weibo Use And Social Anxiety From The Perspective Of Weak Relationship Theory

While satisfying online communication in close relationships,social media also provides possible and new ways for strangers to socialize.According to Dunbar's law,about 80%of a person's social connections are weak relational connections.Is social anxiety in the current high-stress environment also present in weak relationships?That is,is there a correlation between social media-based social interaction and social anxiety in weak relationships?which is the core issue of this study.To this end,this paper takes one of the main user groups of Weibo college students as an example to explore the influence of social media use on college students' anxiety and its mechanism under the view of weak relationship.This study is based on the University The situation of students using Weibo,using social media use situation scale,real social anxiety scale,Weibo social anxiety.scale to questionnaire 544 college students and analyze the data.The results showed that there was a significant negative correlation between Weibo use and Weibo social anxiety(r=-0.326**,Pr=0.001<0.01),while there was a significant positive correlation with real social anxiety(r=0.585**,Pr=0.001 0.01).Although social networking based on social platforms has the function of broadening social scope and spreading multi-source information,social networking with weak relationships promotes virtual The decrease of communication anxiety has no positive effect or even negative effect on real social anxiety.
