A Study On The Interactive Mechanism Of Border City Growth And Port Trade

As the centre of border region growth and port trade,Chinese border cities have grasped the developmental opportunity and have created a "mutual developmental route of border cities and port trade".On the one hand,the economic and social development of border cities is developed comprehensively and rapidly;On the other hand,port trade has made great advancement.Under the policy background of the Belt and Road Initiative and in a new era,Chinese border cities and port trade will be faced with more challenges and opportunities,which makes it significant to research on the development of border cities and to predict their future.This paper aims at identifying the interactive mechanism between border city growth and port trade through studying their relations.Based on the indicator model established,the problems in border city development and port trade are identified.On its basis,targeted and practical suggestions on the future development of border cities and port trade are provided combining the policy background.The study shows that there is a mutual promotion between border city growth and port trade.Empirical research also confirms the correlation between the two cities,but there are differences between the different cities.The port trade will lead to the increase of urban construction land and Population growth,on the contrary,border city growth will drive the port infrastructure construction,and thus promote the port trade;case city Ruili and Manchuria city growth and port trade interaction between the mechanism of common,there are differences,should take different urban development ideas The"border with the way" strategy to the border city has brought great opportunities for development,border cities should be actively integrated into them,optimize the city's economic management and port management,adjust the industrial structure,strengthen the port infrastructure construction,enhance the port customs clearance,promote the port Trade development,and thus achieve the healthy development of the city.This paper is composed of five chapters:The first part is the introduction,the research background,relevant definitions,relevant theories,research status quo at home and abroad,research significance,research method,the difficulties and the innovative ideas are introduced.The second chapter analyzes the development and the status quo of Chinese border cities and the port trade.The formation mechanism,special distribution features and the effects of port trade at different stages are summarized.Chapter three is a qualitative research on the interaction mechanism between border city growth and port trade.Starting from the correlation between border city growth and port trade,the interactive mechanism between them is analyzed and by analyzing their interaction,the controlling factors of their interaction are explored.Case study on the correlation measure of the interaction between border city growth and its port trade is conducted in chapter four.Through typical correlation analytical method and by selecting statistical indicators,the indicator model is established to conduct correlation measure.Taking Ruili and Manzhouli,two cities in of the Belt and Road Initiative at Southern and Northern China,as the example,the correlative condition between various indicators of border city growth and those of port trade is calculated.The results are compared.The fifth chapter is the study on the suggestions on favorably promoting the coordination between border city growth and port trade under the strategic context of the Belt and Road Initiative.Combining the measured results in the case study,the problems existed and the suggestions are identified.Based on the "mutual developmental route of border cities and port trade" of border cities,combining the strategic background of the Belt and Road Initiative,the necessity,the obstacles and policy suggestions on achieving border city growth and port trade under the Belt and Road Initiative are discussed.
