China is a country with many ports which play an important role in its urban planning and development.In particular,the coastal port cities facilitate the country's foreign trade and exchange.With the continuous advancement of economic globalization,the status and role of port cities are becoming more and more obvious.Especially after the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI)was put forward,port cities along the belt and road will face new development opportunities and challenges,and will be endowed with higher requirements and missions.How to arrange the spatial layout of port cities in a scientific and reasonable way,how to handle the relationship between ports and hinterland,between ports and urban areas and between ports and industries,and how to improve the operation efficiency of port cities,and optimize the land use of cities and ports have become the focuses of this paper.From the perspective of urban planning,by taking into consideration of the influence of the BRI on port cities,and by sorting out the relevant theories of port cities' spatial layout at home and abroad and analyzingthe relevant cases,this paper summarizes the connotation,influencing factors,development trend and improvement measures of port cities' spatial layout.Taking Qinzhou as an example,especially under the influence of the BRI,it examines the current situation and existing problems of Qinzhou's urban development and urban space,and,to the difficulties met in industrial development,special expansion,port transportation,hinterland utilization,supporting services and among other,puts forward the following suggestions: maintain the major urban special pattern but improve its functions;buildconvenient access for port-city connectivity;integrate port industrial space and plan urban spatial expansion path;rationallyuse coastal resources with focus on creating coastal leisure tourism space;coordinate in an overall way the rational speciallayout for port infrastructure,supportive facilities for lives,industry,ecology,roads,etc.andoffer the measures and solutions for better special layout for Qinzhou City.It is hoped that this paper can provide reference for otherport cities along and beyond the Belt and Road...
