The national central city is the top of the national urban system and represents the higher level of national political, economic, cultural, and social development. And it plays an important role in leading, radiating, driving, and functioning in these areas. It is also an important strategic fulcrum in the development of a country's regional development. In a certain period,it is an important gateway and carrier for countries to participate in international competition and cooperation. At the same time,in the process of new urbanization of the country, the optimization of the layout of the central cities and towns is the key link, and the layout of the central cities of the country is even more important. The paper starts with a case study in Zhengzhou and hopes to provide theoretical and practical reference for the construction of central cities in Zhengzhou and other countries. On the basis of combing the relevant research of the central cities of the country, combining the theories of urban geography and economics, the paper analyzes the connotation, characteristics and functions of the national central city, sets up a comprehensive evaluation index system for the national central city construction level, and uses the grey correlation model to measure Comprehensively evaluate the value and use this weighted voronoi diagram to define the radiation range of the central city of the country with the weight of the square root as the weight. The economic connection strength model and social network analysis method are used to analyze the structural characteristics of the economic linkage network of the Central Plains urban agglomeration. On this basis, the core functions of the national center city in Zhengzhou are clearly defined, and the path for the construction of a central city in Zhengzhou will be attempted. The main research conclusions are:Firstly,The level of urban construction in Zhengzhou National Center as a whole is on a rising trend. It is a period of steady development from 2005 to 2010 and a period of rapid development from 2010 to 2015.The functions of each function from strong to weak are in order: regional radiating function> opening to the outside world> economic and trade agglomeration function> cultural innovation function> social service function. From this point of view,Zhengzhou's advantage is the function of regional radiation and opening to the outside world, and short board is the cultural innovation and Social service function;Compared with other seven countries' central cities, overall,Zhengzhou's national center city construction ranks the last place in terms of its level of functioning and its functional level, but it is relatively small compared with Wuhan,Chongqing, and Chengdu in the central and western regions.Secondly, from the radiation ranges of the central cities of eight countries,we can see that the radiation range of Zhengzhou and the adjacent cities of Beijing,Tianjin,Shanghai, and Chongqing have gradually decreased, and the rate of expansion of the radiation boundary line has significantly decreased.Form 2005 to 2015,the boundary lines between Zhengzhou and Chengdu and Wuhan can be seen.In recent years, the overall strength of Zhengzhou has been somewhat different from that of Wuhan and Chengdu. However, the overall increase has been significant. After increasing several provincial capitals near Zhengzhou,it was found that five cities such as Xingtai and Liaocheng on the edge of the Central Plains urban agglomeration could not be covered. From this we can see that the comprehensive radiation influence of the central city of Zhengzhou still has a lot of room for improvement.Thirdly, the overall economic ties within the Central Plains urban agglomeration are quite different.Generally speaking, the spatial distribution patterns of “one circle, one horizontal line, two vertical lines” and multiple “growth triangles” are formed. There is a high degree of consistency in the spatial distribution between the intensity of economic ties and the total volume of economic ties, and the economically strong axis connects cities with large total economic volumes. From the perspective of the strength of the first city's linkages,Zhengzhou is centered on the “?” shape and extended to the surrounding cities. Each city tends to make the first contact with the regional center city. From the perspective of network structure, the network density of urban clusters in the Central Plains cities is low,and the economic linkages between them are sparse. The cities with the highest degree of centrality are Luoyang,Handan, and Zhengzhou metropolitan areas.Zhengzhou,Zhoukou,Jiaozuo and other urban mediation centers are at the forefront. The Central Plains urban agglomerations have core-edge structure characteristics. The core and edge nodes in the spatial network are 9 and 21 respectively.Fourthly, combining the above results,we will analyze the opportunities, challenges, advantages, and disadvantages of Zhengzhou's construction of a national center city, compare the core functions of the eight central cities, and clarify the positioning of Zhengzhou as the core function of the national center city. Finally,The Basic Way of National Center City Construction in Zhengzhou Based on five functions of Economic and Trade Agglomeration,Regional Radiation,Opening to the Outside World,Cultural Innovation, and Social Service.
