The educational investment and the residents' income gap are the topics that scholars and politicians have always been concerned about. They are also closely related to the life of urban and rural residents. It is of great significance to study the impact of urban and rural education investment on the residents' income gap.The concrete manifestation is that in the academic research, the existing theories can be further expanded. In practice,it is conducive to better play the role of educational investment in narrowing the income gap between urban and rural residents.Improving the living standards of urban and rural residents, advancing the process of urbanization, realizing the people's happy life and the country's prosperity and strength.Based on the above discussion, this paper mainly studies the impact of urban and rural education investment on the income gap of residents in China.First of all,it elaborates on the current situation of urban and rural education investment and the actual performance of residents' income. Then it thoroughly explores the causes of the current situation of urban and rural education investment in China. It is found that the factors that lead to excessive investment in urban and rural education are: return on investment in education, and urban-rural dual economic system, and the urban orientation of urban and rural education investment. In addition, from the perspective of the educational return rate and the distribution of educational resources, the mechanism of the urban-rural education input to the residents' income gap is analyzed. Then this paper selects relevant panel data from 31 provinces and cities in China from 2010 to 2015,and uses a fixed effect model to empirically analyze the impact of urban and rural education investment on residents' income gap in China. The results of the study show that increasing urban and rural household education investment will increase the income gap of residents, increase the investment in urban and rural public finances can effectively narrow the income gap of residents, and the public financial education investment will generate more income gap for residents than urban and rural family education investment.Significant influence. In addition, the income gap between urban and rural residents is also affected by other factors such as the level of economic development and the growth rate of the tertiary industry. Therefore, the Chinese government should further increase budgetary expenditures for urban and rural public finance education and encourage rural residents to invest in private education, thereby reducing the educational investment of urban and rural residents. Finally, this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions for effectively narrowing the gap between China's urban and rural education investment and residents' income. It mainly includes encouraging urban and rural residents, especially rural residents,to increase investment in private education, improve the construction of the public finance system, and establish an education input mechanism for urban feeding and rural education. And to promote the integration of urban and rural areas and so on.
