The Research On The Effect Of Tariff Change On Enterprise' Export Behavior And R&D Expenditure

With the rapid development and upgrading of new technologies and industries,and the rapidly changing demands of international markets,the world's countries are constantly adapting their trade policies and responses to the current economic situation.For the developed countries of foreign trade,tariffs are often the main revenue of national tax and even national fiscal revenue,the government can Levy tariffs on imports and exports of goods,is the main trade measures.In addition,tariffs are an important means for countries to regulate and control foreign trade and economic relations.It was therefore important to study further the effects of tariff changes.Based on many scholars 'research on trade theory,new trade theory and new trade theory,this paper combs the trade theory used,and puts forward three hypotheses on the basis of corresponding models.Second,falling tariffs will prompt companies to spend more on research and development.Third,changes in tariffs have a more pronounced impact on the export behaviour and R&D spending of firms with intermediate productivity.In order to test the hypothesis of this paper,this paper mainly studies the effect of tariff changes on the export behavior of enterprises and the R&D expenditure of enterprises.The data selected in this paper is the non-equilibrium panel data at the level of manufacturing enterprises in China,which is 57846 enterprises.In order to eliminate the effect of fixed effect,the first order difference of the linear probability model is chosen.In studying the effect of tariff changes on technological upgrading,a generalized differential model is used to make full use of data.In addition,in order to study the effect of tariff changes on different productivity firms,this paper mainly uses productivity to divide the enterprises into four groups to do the regression,to study the effect of tariff changes on the enterprises 'export behavior and R&D expenditure.The study found that the fall in U.S.tariffs on the whole would boost the export behaviour of companies;A fall in US tariffs would prompt companies to spend more on research and development.The effect of tariff changes on enterprises under different productivity is different.In the study of enterprises 'export behavior,the effect of enterprises under the third digit is most significant.In the research of the impact of R & D expenditure on the productivity of enterprises in the third and quartile,the impact of the other quartile is not significant.This result largely supports the assumptions presented in this paper.Based on the results of the study,the following specific policy suggestions are given in light of China's current economic situation: first,make a plan and complete it step by step;Second,we should liberalize exports and improve their quality and efficiency.Thirdly,improve the international competitiveness of Chinese enterprises and industries.Fourth,we should improve our capacity and influence in formulating international trade rules,establish a scientific outlook on development and accelerate the transformation of trade growth patterns.
