The foreign trade of China's agricultural products occupies an important position in China's agricultural development. Since the Uruguay Round "Agriculture Agreement" was signed, the tariffs of agricultural products has been reduced significantly, the market of agricultural products has been opened highly, the agricultural trade has accelerated the pace of development to more freedom, justice and convenient, especially since the accession to WTO, China's agricultural trade is growing continuously and rapidly. The degree of dependence on Chinese market from agriculture developed countries is also deepening and China's position in the world agricultural trade is rising. According to WTO statistics, China has become the fourth largest country in the trade of agricultural products, total amount of exports is fifth and imports is fourth in the world.Tariff reduction of China's agricultural products is inevitable in order to adapt to the trend of liberalization of international trade. It has a positive effect to raise the scale of international trade of our agricultural products and promote the contact between China and the other countries in agricultural trade. At the same time it has a huge impact on the domestic markets of agricultural products because a large number of foreign products enter the domestic agricultural market as the opening of our agricultural markets, while China's export trade is lack of stability, so it is frequently encountered resistance from the foreign trade barriers, such as green barriers, anti-dumping and other barriers, therefore the trade deficit of agricultural products is prominent and China's foreign trade of agricultural products faces more competitive pressures and more problems. Therefore, it is our top priority to study the practical impact on the import and export of our agricultural products from tariff reduction, to find the solution to protect the domestic market stability and to promote international trade of agricultural products smoothly.Firstly, this article has a theoretical analysis about the effect of tariff reduction on imports and exports of agricultural products in order to provide the theoretical basis for the following empirical research. Secondly, I analyze the status quo of China's agricultural trade after the tariff reduction by statistical studies of relevant information and data from four respects: the rapid growth of imports and exports of agricultural products, the declining share of imports and exports in the whole country, the lasting of trade deficit and the concentration of agricultural imports and exports. Empirical study focuses on the effects of tariff levels, tariff quotas and green trade barriers on the imports and exports of agricultural products in the context of tariff concessions by a numbers of methods, such as regression analysis, data comparison and comparative analysis. Finally,I will find out the reasons causing the status quo of agricultural products through the previous analysis, and prescribe the right medicine to improve the problems of agricultural products from six respects: determine the scope of tariff concessions of agricultural products reasonably, improve agricultural ecological environment, promote agricultural industrialization, improve the quality and safety systems of agricultural products, implement the export diversification strategy, improve the information collection and early warning mechanisms of green trade barriers, in order to achieve the purposes to promote the foreign trade and enhance the international competitiveness of agricultural products.
