Since 21 st century,high-level scandals and black box operations have erupted frequently,and the exposure of these incidents has aroused widespread concern about the integrity of the leadership.In recent years,the academic circles have conducted more in-depth and comprehensive research on leader integrity.Some achievements have been made in the concept,measurement,causes and consequences of leadership integrity,but the empirical research on leadership integrity is still very scarce.Through literature research,we find that leader integrity has a significant positive impact on individuals,but at present,the academic research is more focused on the impact of leadership integrity on employee behavior,attitude and performance.Few studies have explored the impact of leader integrity on leaders themselves.This paper tries to explore the impact of leader integrity on leaders themselves,that is,the impact of leader integrity on leaders' individual career development and perceived leader power.This study takes the leaders and employees of enterprises and institutions as the research sample,using questionnaire survey research method collect data,distributed 300 leader-member matching questionnaires,including 100 managerial questionnaires and 300 staff questionnaires,and we finally collected 84 valid managerial questionnaires and 243 valid staff questionnaires.This study used SPSS19.0 and AMOS21.0 statistical software to carry out descriptive analysis,reliability and validity analysis,correlation analysis and regression analysis of the data collected through the questionnaire surveys,and then test the research hypothesis.The research conclusions as following:(1)The leader integrity scale used in this study has good reliability and validity,the scale is applicable to Chinese situation.(2)Leader integrity has a significant positive impact on personal reputation,career development and perceived leader power;Personal reputation has a significant positive impact on career development and perceived leader power.(3)Personal reputation has intermediary effect,which can mediate the influence of leadership integrity on career development and perceived leader power,that is,leadership integrity can obtain career development and perceived leader power through good personal reputation.The main contribution of this paper is to carry out research on leader integrity in the context of China,and to verify the applicability of Western scales to Chinese subjects;to study and confirm the influence of leader integrity on career development and perceived leader power,which enrich the study about the impact effect of leader integrity.Moreover,the empirical results obtained in this study may have certain practical significance in guiding leader rationally seeking their own development and establishing a good personal reputation.Based on the research results,the paper also discuss the managerial implication and gives practical suggestions from three aspects: organization,managers,and employees.At last,I point out the limitations of the research and put forward the prospects for future research,which may have some enlightening significance for researchers in this area.
