Research On Development Planning Of Ecotourism In Xiangzhou District

With the improvement of living standard of urban and rural residents in China,the process of urban-rural integration accelerates and residents' consumption has entered an significant stage of rapid transformation and upgrading.The constant increase in people's discretionary time and disposable income makes tourism a necessity to become popular from the non-essential necessities of life.As a sub-central city of Hubei Province and the eco-cultural tourism circle,Xiangyang boasts richness in tourism resources and convenience in transportation,which has dramatically promoted the development of urban-rural economy,industrial integration and ecological civilization.Xiangzhou District,which ranked the highest in GDP contribution among other districts of Xiangyang,on the one hand enjoys the unique location advantage,on the other hand is rich in mountain and lake resources as well as natural scenery.Therefore,the potential in development of ecological tourism here will be enormous.In order to promote tourism supply side reform,industrial integration and poverty alleviation,to coordinate economic development and environmental protection,stimulate the process of comprehensive tourism and urban-rural integration,this paper explores the development planning of ecological tourism in Xiangzhou through comprehensive utilization of theory on population resources and environmental economics,regional economics and tourism geography.In addition,SWOT analysis and EViews software have been used,supporting the analysis on the present situation and dynamic mechanism of urban-rural ecotourism development in Xiangzhou and the forecast of the domestic tourism market in the next five years.Conclusions are drawn as followed:the advantages of tourism location are outstanding,abundant natural resources,and government policies are strongly supported.Xiangzhou has prominent advantages in tourism location,natural resources and strong support from government policy.The disadvantage lies in the lack of integration of tourism resources,lag on tourism planning and development,unsound infrastructure and ancillary services.The inefficient management system of the tourism also hinder the development of the ecotourism.Opportunity lies in the construction of"Beautiful Countryside" and "Three Centers of Hanjiang River Basin".The threats,however,are that regional tourism is fiercely competitive,and the negative impacts of tourism on ecological environment appear.By 2020,the number of domestic tourism in Xiangyang will reach 52.57 million,the domestic tourism income will reach 39.288 billion yuan and the foreign exchange earnings from tourism will reach 46.167 million dollars.The paper puts forward the tourism spatial layout planning as One Core,Two Circles,Three Axes and Five Zones.The safeguard measures of ecotourism development include the adaptation of local conditions,exploration of characteristics,integration on development,optimization of investment environment,improvement of the construction of infrastructure,the innovation of management and the establishment of ecological compensation mechanism.
