Tourism in Mongolia has been one of the fastest growing sector in recent years,and definitely,country's one of the strategically important area to pay attention to.During its 19th regular meetings,Citizens' Representative Khural of the Capital approved a project called "Hospitable Ulaanbaatar" on September 22nd of 2014.According to the "General plan of development of Ulaanbaatar until 2020,and approach until 2030" the approved project will be implemented in three stages,and expected to welcome 2 million tourists by 2020,5 million by 20 30,further increasing tourism's contribution on capital's economy to 20 per cent,and the number of employees in tourism service sector to 35 thousand people.Though the government implements numerous multi-factor incentives to develop tourism,attract tourists,it is important to conduct researches on how these changes would affect the social-culture,economy,environment and cooperation between residents and tourists.With this purpose in mind,this research aims to collect intelligence on residents' attitude towards tourism development,and its influence on socio-cultural,economic and environmental.Additionally,since the majority of tourists of the last 5 years to Mongolia is from People's Republic of China,this research would ask the Mongolian residents about how the behavior of Chinese tourists have affected Mongolia's tourism sector at large.This study aims to investigate the residents' attitudes toward tourism development,conducted in October of 2017 in Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue and capital city of Ulaanbaatar,Mongolia.Using a face-to-face questionnaire,data was collected 206 local residents.Following data collection from a questionnaire,factor analysis and regression analyses were conducted.Part 1 is using 23 items,of which 7 was on socio-cultural,8 on economic and 8 environmental impacts.Overall result of the research showed that tourism has the most positive effect on environmentally,tourism supports environmental protection,infrastructure,construction,city planning,and basic look of the outdoors.As of socio-cultural change,tourism creates a proudness in traditional culture and history among locals,increases capability of workers,increases the variety of goods at services,demands knowledge of a foreign language.After economy,because it creates a workplace,increases revenue and introduces a competition to a local service sector,which increases quality.To sum up the research,local residents shows full support of the incentives that are being implemented towards tourism sector.Part2,used 12 items to inquire residents' perspective on Chinese tourists.Even though the majority of participants assume that Chinese tourists behave badly during their visit to Ulaanbaatar,they still positively affect the socio-cultural and economic sectors.As a result,these experiments will aid to increase the effectiveness of the tourism policy,increase the positive affects of tourism,understand Chinese tourists' behavior and create an incentive that are aimed more towards two countries' tourism development of the sector.Finally,besides studying the effects of tourism on local residents,it is best to add the possible effects of tourism on the general development of the country,which can be used as a research document to improve country's development policy,tourism growth and its tendency as a whole.
