With the booming of the economy of China, the whole society is entering the “experience economy” era.As one of the typical industries of the “experience economy” —— online tourism is also transferring and innovating.Meanwhile, since the promotion of citizens' disposable income, the diversified development of tourism resources, the increasingly perfect infrastructure, and the rapid development of the mobile internet,China's online tourism has developed a variety of forms. However,in the increasingly diverse needs of users, the current online tourism platforms still have many shortcomings in design,so it needs to be optimized to meet the needs of the users.Under this background, the author tries to use The Peak-end Rule as the theoretical basis,to optimize the design of online tourism platform, therefore improve the user experience and strength the positive user memories. In the early analysis part: the author analyzed this topic's research necessity according to the social background, the industry background, and the design background.Next, from the perspective of theory and industry, this paper analyzes the theoretical basis of the whole topic—— the research status of the Peak-end Rule, and finds that there are plenty of cases in the design area, but the application of the rule in the field of online tourism platform is rare, therefore proving the feasibility of this topic in theory; Then the author analyzes the developmental path of the research object——online tourism platform,as well as the specific problems in its design,so as to draw more targeted design strategies in the following. After this,by introducing the human memory model, the author describes the concept of user memory design, and the value of the Peak-end Rule in this topic at the same time,Activity-centered Design model and the value of this model in the design of tourism platform have been proved. In the output part: the author gets the specific design problems of the current online tourism platform,as well as the seven "Peaks" and " Ends" in the user's journey through the investigation of the target users, and analyzes the design optimization direction of these seven key points by using Fogg Behavior Model; Then, according to these seven key points, this paper puts forward specific design strategies and principles. In the verification part: the author takes the online tourism platform "Flying Pig" as a case, uses the design strategy of the previous output to optimize the user experience in its "peak" point and "end" points. After this, the author utilizes the HEART framework by Google to evaluate the optimized design scheme qualitatively and quantitatively, which proves the effectiveness of the design strategy of the previous output.
