With the rapidly development of modern enterprise,the proportion for office buildings shows more and more significant,and along with the demands of office furniture is increasing by yearly,studies have shown that office furniture will become the important branch in furniture industry in the future.Huge demand will bring about infinite business opportunities to enterprise,but takes new challenge as well.The demand is changeable,and the enterprise's competition becomes more fiercely,China as the manufacturing center in the world,most of the manufactures lies on traditional way to manage inventory,which caused the great waste on source and material,meanwhile seriously weakened the advantages on supply chain,especial when fulfill customer's personalized demand,the traditional and extensive inventory manage completely can not meet current customer's request,all these factors told us is important and necessary to find an effectively way to manage inventory in supply chain today.The paper used the supply chain management theory and inventory management method,especial elaborationed the VMI and JIT theory,pointed out the existing problems on inventory management with the background of Project under BTO mode in office furniture industry,find out the root cause for this high inventory,then work out the objective and feasible measures to control inventory.The paper handled with raw material firstly,start with customer demand management in the front,optimize supply chain on the middle,and create internal material strategy in the final to optimize inventory,then attain the target for inventory management.Regarding to the FG aging,the paper appointed that set up the nearest supply chain and establish effective mechanism among enterprise,sales and OFT to completely solve the current FG aging status,and thoroughly reduce or eliminate FG aging in the future.Meanwhile,paper put forward the enterprise should think about how to ensure system basic data accuracy.In the end,On the last chapter,the author put forward the business model of VMI-HUB,establish good relationship with suppliers,quick responses for customer demand and provide better service to customer,realizing information mutual share,and achieve win-win in final.According to above improvement measures,S company greatly reduced the inventory cost,improved the competition accordingly,the response became more and more quickly,and which helped the company earned more and more sales orders and market.
