Arrival of the information age gradually change the traditional office model and the new forms of office work emerge. At the same time the office staff require more comfortable office environment and office furniture. This paper explores the design concepts and principles of office furniture by design practice demonstration for information technology office forms. It, provides an effective solution to the current reference to the practical problems of China office furniture industry, as well as enriches the theory research of office furniture design.This paper summarizes the evolution of office forms from the factory office, through several stages of the program office, landscape office, experimental work, the effectiveness of the office, etc., to today’s information office stage. Information-technology office forms roughly classify into centralized and decentralized office, namely cooperation office and independent office. Depending on the contents of the office, centralized office may be subdivided into managed type and barrack type, decentralized office can be divided into outdoor-affairs type and consulting type. Whatever the information technology office mode, the development of its office space are presented ecological, living, intelligent, functional composite trend. Influencing by the office mode of life, mobility, networking and intelligence the office furniture has the following three distinct characteristics:furniture closely integrating with information platform, furniture connecting to a personal daily life, and combining intelligence. Based on the above study, this paper proposed that in order to make office furniture design to be truly suited to China’s information office forms, the furniture design should be combined Western advanced design concepts with local China situation which combine the living habits and work habits and design the office furniture in line with the information technology office for life and intelligence to meet the needs of the Chinese market. This paper summarized the office furniture design principles for information-office form,namely integration and life, ease of use and applicability, energy security, intelligence and advanced, user-friendly and personalized Wait combing with traditional office furniture design principles.Finally, with the guidance of the office furniture design ideas the author designed a set of office furniture for an ordinary company staff to use. Design practice provides some reference for other similar furniture design.
