Coincident with reform and opening up policy has been constantly accelerating economy growth in Jiangsu Province among which booming development of manufacturing industry plays an important role,which has attracted national attention.However,in the past years,economic growth was at the expense of high input and high emission,resulting in seriously unreasonable industrial structure and growing environmental problems.In recent years,Jiangsu province has attempted to realize the green economy transition from quantity to quality.Under this atmosphere,this paper studies the total factor productivity of overall industry in Jiangsu and each city,and conducts a research in the internal motivation of industrial economic growth and the economy-environment benefits of Jiangsu's industry under environment constrains,which is to provide direction for manufacturing industry structure adjustment,and to promote transformation and upgrading of Jiangsu manufacturing industry,and achieve the goal of the sustainable development of economy and environment.First,based on the current situation of manufacturing and environmental pollution in Jiangsu province,this paper explains its relevant situation about economic development of Jiangsu's manufacturing industry employing statistical analysis.Second,constructing the non-radial directional distance function on the basis of previous study and combining the Malmquist-Luenberger,two input indicators and two output indicators are selected,this paper calculates the total factor productivity of overall industry in Jiangsu and each city from 2005-2015,and does a decomposition research.Finally,economic environmental benefit of manufacturing industry is measured,which can make an adjustment direction of manufacturing structure under the constraint of environmental atmosphere.The following conclusions are drawn from the study:(1)The geometric mean of manufacturing environmental total factor productivity in Jiangsu province is 1.0544,which generally presents an increasing trend but its range ability is relatively small.Technological promotion,main promotion factor to manufacturing development,plays a key role in facilitating development of industries in Jiangsu and other cities.In the decomposition factor of technological efficiency diversion,pure technical efficiency is more effective than scale efficiency to promote the progress of Jiangsu manufacturing.Environmental factors have the great influence on the change of technical efficiency.(2)It indicates that from the year of 2005 to the year of 2015,most of industries are in the slump,and only a fraction of it takes the opposite.Seeking for its causes,it shows that high redundancy of pollution takes the lead and irrational input structure is the subordinate.However,lacking in the resources of input only has the effect of inhibition.(3)According to relative comprehensive benefit value,scale efficiency and input and output of each manufacturing industry,29 manufacturing industries are divided into four categories,industry that needs to maintain its current situation,to overhaul its emissions,to improve production efficiency,and to be greatly rectified,which indicates future adjustment direction.
