Founded in the year 2013,B company is an English training company specializing in training applicants for oversea education to get their target score of the standardized tests,such as IELTS,TOEFL,SAT,GMAT and GRE.With 5 years' development,B company has grown from a workshop of 4 people to a micro entrepreneurial company with 18 employees and 3 branches.However,with the increasing competition in this industry and the change of the corporate strategic goal,a sound and effective motivation system that aims at intriguing both the managing group and the employees of B company to involve in the further development of the company is in a great need.Based on the classic theories relating to employee motivation and the recent researches concerning employee motivation in micro business,this thesis studies the developing process and strategic goal of B company,and finds out some problems existing in the company's employee motivation system after interviewing with the CEO and the General Manager of B company.Poor employee performance,poor employee stability and high staff turnover,and low employee positivity and participation are the 3 major problems found in B company.What's more,through an interview with the employees in B company,the thesis found the reasons causing the above problems,including limited motivation types,unreasonable compensation structure,incomplete performance management system,and lack of long-term motivation.Then the author thoroughly analyzes the problems based on the theories listed in the Chapter II.Analysis covers its compensation package,its motivation plans for founders who are also members of the managing team,its training and development for employees,etc..Suggestions concerning the reform of the current compensation package,the establishment of the performance management system,the setting of the equity motivation for founders,the founding of the systematic training and career development for employees are given out correspondingly.The thesis,through the study of the employee motivation system in B company,aims at solving the problems obstructing the development of the company and meet the corporate strategic goal of creating more products,improving efficiency,expanding scales and increasing profits,on one hand.On the other,this research could provide some theoretical reference to companies of similar scale and characters,thus reducing the possibility of failure of micro businesses.
