The Impact Of Top Management Team's Shared Strategic Cognition On Strategic Decision Speed And International Speed

Under the encouragement and guidance of the "go global" strategy,the expansion of the internationalization of Chinese enterprises is becoming more and more intense.Enterprise internationalization can bring more resources and wider market for enterprises.Thus,more and more Chinese enterprises establish the time-based competitive advantages through rapid integration of global resources and marching into the international market.Furthermore,the speed of internationalization based on the time dimension is an important aspect of the enterprise internationalization strategy.Although domestic and foreign scholars have carried out some researches on the internationalization speed of enterprises,the existing researches are mostly based on organizational factors,and lack of deep exploration of the influencing mechanism of the team factors.However,internationalization is accompanied by a more complex and changeable environment,which poses new challenges for senior managers of enterprises,requiring senior managers to work more efficiently in a team way.Accordingly the top management team is an important aspect that influences the internationalization strategy of enterprises.However,previous researches have focused on impact of the demographic characteristics of the top management team on the performance of the enterprise internationalization,the research focued on influence of the shared strategic cognition of the top management team on the international speed is relatively lack.Moreover,related studies only consider the impact of the organization internal factors,ignoring the analysis of the external environmental factors.This article expects to clarify the influence mechanism of enterprise internationalization speed by integrating upper echelon theory,Shared mental model and internationalization theory.On the one hand,we want to be able to expand the theoretical research of upper echelon theory and international theory.On the other hand,we hope to provide practice guidance for accelerating the pace of internationalization by building a decision-making executive team with high efficiency for the enterprise.In view of the existing literature is insufficient about the relationship between shared strategic cognition,strategic decision-making speed and international speed,this article explore this relationship mechanism and the regulating effect of the external environmental dynamics to the relationship between shared strategic cognition and internationalization speed from the 138 international companies as samples.Through the statistical analysis of questionnaire,this paper found that the shared strategic cognition can be not only a direct impact on internationalization speed,but also can be by indirect impact on strategic decision-making speed.At the same time,environmental dynamics plays a positive regulating role in the relationship between shared strategic cognition and internationalization speed.
