| On the one hand,as an important way to solve the main contradiction of our society at this stage,the development of tourism industry is facing new opportunities.In order to promote the further expanding of tourism,it is necessary to start with culture which is called "the soul" of tourism.A series of documents were issued by the government to promote the development of cultural elements and the decision was made to set up Ministry of Culture and Tourism,which showed the emphasis at institutional level;in the market,the tourists also have paid more and more attention to the cultural experiences of the tour.On the other hand,under the background of the new normal development,good and fast development requirements for tourism economy were put forward,and in the long-term sustainable economic development,the role of culture is increasingly important.Cultural capital,a concept that spans both cultural and economic categories,has come to prominence of scholars.In order to study the influence of cultural capital on the development of tourism economy,the stock of cultural capital should be evaluated firstly.An empirical study on the relationship between cultural capital and the development of tourism economy should be performed then.In the literature review,it was found that in the study of the relationship between cultural capital and economic growth,scholars at home and abroad adopted a number of qualitative methods and had less empirical analysis with persuasive and spatial differences;and in the research scope,most of them were from the macro perspective of the country while the studies of representative cases were less.In order to enrich the research methods and perspectives of cultural capital,to provide a theoretical basis for the integration of culture and tourism and to put forward more pertinent policy suggestions for the development of tourism economy in different regions,in the research Guangdong Province with high cultural capital stock and stable performance was chosen as a study case,where combination of general metrology and spatial econometrics was adopted.First,the cultural capital was defined from the economic perspective and the evaluation index system of cultural capital stock was constructed.Then,the cultural capital stock in Guangdong Province was evaluated and its space-time differences were analyzed.Next,according to the calculated data,the relationship between the cultural capital stock and the development of tourism economy was tested empirically.Finally,practical enlightenment and policy recommendations were put forward based on the empirical results.The results indicated that the cultural capital stock in Guangdong Province(except Shanwei City)was generally low but increasing with uneven spatial distribution.The Pearl River Delta region was greatly ahead and the polarization had an increasing trend.The cultural capital had a significant positive effect to the tourism economy,which had a sign of weakening,and in the space,it was more in east and less in west.Finally,in view of the spatial characteristics of cultural capital stock in Guangdong Province and the influencing differences of the cultural capital on tourism economy,some suggestions were put forward in terms of balancing the cultural capital stock,accelerating the integration of culture and tourism and promoting the development of tourism economy in Guangdong Province.This research enriched the theory of cultural capital from the economic perspective,introduced the spatial factors into the cultural capital study for the first time.Finally,the positive effect of the cultural capital stock on the development of tourism economy was verified and the differences in the influence of cultural capital stock of various regions in Guangdong Province on the development of tourism economy were discovered. |
