China's third-party payment has developed rapidly.The market scale has increased from 1.07 trillion yuan in 2010 to 124.7 trillion yuan in 2017.Third-party payment overlaps with the bank's intermediary business in the areas of payment and settlement,agency payment,and other intermediate businesses,which inevitably will affect the income and structure of the intermediary business.Based on this,this article studies the influence of third-party payment on16 listings commercial banks' intermediary business from theoretical and empirical aspects,and provides corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for 16 listings commercial banks.First of all,this paper systematically summarizes the domestic and foreign related documents concerning third-party payment,commercial bank intermediary business and their relationship,and provides a rich theoretical basis for this article.Second,this article systematically introduces the development,business model,and characteristics of third-party payment.Combined with data,the article analyzed the market size and growth of the computer-side payment and mobile-side payment.And,based on the detailed introduction of the intermediate business,the article conducts systematic data analysis.Then,we studied the ways in which third-party payments affect the intermediary business.Then the panel data is created,the specific impact of the third party payment on the intermediary business income and structure is studied through a suitable regression model.The results show that the third-party payment has a negative impact on the proportion of intermediary business income and payment and settlement business income in the intermediary business income,but it has no significant effect on the proportion of agency business income to intermediate business income.Finally,this paper proposes six feasible suggestions for commercial banks: First,pay attention to strategic adjustment and business transformation of payment and settlement business;Second,adjust the intermediate business structure,focus on high value-added services,and do fine work;Third,differentiate market positioning and explore new cooperation models;Fourth,make up for its own short board,improve user experience and stickiness,and expand payment services;Fifth,innovate bank payment and expand the scope of application.Sixth,seize the opportunity to fully integrate the internal and external resources of the bank.
