In today's highly competitive and volatile economic environment, firms must focus on the strategies that can create value and improve performance. In recent years, more attention has been paid to the impact of Internet technology and the implementation of e-business on firm's value creation process and performance improvement.China also promotes the Internet plus and develops e-business actively in order to foster new economic power. However, mixed results have been found in the study of the relationship between e-business and firm performance. On one hand, many scholars point out that e-business has a positive effect on firm performance. On the other hand, some studies show that there is no significant relationship between them. Therefore,it is valuable for us to deeply explore the relationship between e-business and firm performance. This study focuses on the relationship between e-business capability and firm performance.Based on the resource-based view and the theoretical notion of higher-order capabilities and a hierarchy of capabilities,we divided firm e-business capability into lower-order e-business system capability and higher-order e-business service capability. From the perspective of supply chain management, supply chain agility and supply chain integration are considered to be multiple mediators that can affect the relationship between e-business and firm performance. In addition, supply chain performance is included in the measurement scope of firm performance and a second-order formative measurement model is established.Through questionnaire survey,SPSS,Smart PLS and Mplus statistical software are used to conduct data analysis and hypothesis test to verify the model and hypothesis proposed in this study. The empirical results show that:(1)e-business capability can positively affect firm performance;(2)e-business capability helps to improve supply chain agility and supply chain integration;(3)supply chain agility and supply chain integration can positively affect firm performance;(4)there is a multiple mediation effect of supply chain agility and supply chain integration between e-business capability and firm performance. The conclusion of this study examines the positive effect of e-business capability onfirm performance and provides useful advice and suggestions for firms to make effective use of e-business.At the same time, the second-order formative measurement model in this study provides a theoretical support for the future research on the relationship between e-business capability and firm performance.
