Agriculture represents a key role in sustaining livelihoods in developing African economies;it's the primary source of food products all over the world.There is no doubt that agriculture plays a crucial role in the overall growth of any country and so it is necessary to ensure its development.Agriculture rests the main driver of her economic in central Africa,Seventy-five percent of people works in agriculture and over fifty percent of the Gross Domestic Product is produced through agriculture.Cassava is a commonly grown crop by small-scale famers in Central Africa,despite efforts to ameliorate the profile of cassava,yields at farm level are still low.This work analyses the technical efficiency of cassava producers in Central African Republic;Lobaye Province.Data was collected using a designed questionnaire which was administered to cassava farmers,attributes regarding the household head biographic information,access to agricultural extension,capital,marketing and economic incomes use.A Stochastic Frontier Analysis(SFA)and a Tobit regression models were used to estimate the technical efficiency and establish the factors affecting technical efficiency respectively.Our results shown that the technical efficiency of cassava producers in Lobaye province ranged from a low of 38.76% and a high 87.02% with a mean of 74.91%,this therefore means that there is room for improvement of efficiency ceteris peribus.The study recommends improving policies that directly or indirectly enhance availability of certified cuttings of cassava and enhanced access to agricultural extension services by smallholder farmers.
