Research On The Regional Differences And The Threshold Effect About Innovation Of China's Foreign Direct Investment

Since 1990 s,China's innovation performance showed a sharp increase in the trend.According to data released by the World Intellectual Property Organization(WIPO),China has become the world's third largest patent country after the United States and Japan,and become Asia's largest patent country.As a developing country,foreign direct investment is an important channel of learning experience and technology in developed countries.Whether foreign direct investment continued bring home to enhance innovation capability? Are there any significant differences in the effect of innovation in each region? Does the country's economic development level and opening degree effect the innovation?With the continuous expansion of foreign direct investment,more and more scholars pay more attention to the impact of foreign investment on the home economy,technology and human capital.This dissertation is an empirical study of national innovation ability,using the panel data of Chinese 30 provinces(except Tibet)from 2006 to 2015,and multivariate regression analysis methods were used to test the influence of FDI,R&D and human capital on innovation ability for all samples and regional samples in domestic.The results show that foreign direct investment has a positive influence on the innovation ability,and there was significant difference between the effects of two different types of innovation ability,FDI had a significant positive impact on the regional incremental innovation,while no impact on radical innovation.In addition,the domestic R&D investment and human capital levels had a positive influence on innovation to a certain extent.On this basis,using cluster analysis to divide China 30 provinces into three areas: high innovation ability,middle innovation ability and low innovation ability.Then,analyses the difference between the three regions with different degree of innovation generated by survey and literature reviewing.And the analysis results are used as the threshold variables to calculate the threshold level of the positive innovation effect.
