Since the 1990 s,the theory of core competence has aroused widespread concern in the field of management.The core competence has become a source of sustainable competitive advantage for enterprises.In the 21 st century,marked by mobile internet and artificial intelligence,the environment is characterized by dynamism.Many companies form a core competence rigidity(The following is referred to as the core rigidity)because of long-term adherence to core competence,and thus fail.The problem that the enterprises need to solve in the process of sustainable development today is to interpret the causes of the core rigidity.In China,especially in private enterprises,the status of "manager leading" has been formed,and the sustainable development of enterprises depends on the management cognition and ability.Therefore,it is impossible to underestimate the influence of managers in this process in order to study the reasons for the gradual formation of core rigidity.The existing theoretical and empirical research does not explain how the management cognition leads to the core rigidity.This article cites the relevant theory of core rigidity,including core competence,potential rigidity,and management cognitive theory,etc.Based on the method of case study,auxiliary literature research,interview and so on.The cause of the core of Wuxi Suntech is studied.Exploring Wuxi Suntech in the face of the potential of the core competence rigidity(hereinafter referred to as potential rigidity),due to the subjective perception of Shi Zhengrong and his management team,he chose the wrong method of potential rigidity or did not handle it for other reasons,resulting in a core rigidity.Based on the first and second hand research data obtained,it is concluded that management cognition is one of the causes of core rigidity by decoding and analyzing the data,specifically:(1)the core rigidity of enterprises is that when encountering potential rigidity,managers actively respond,but they choose the wrong potential rigid treatment method,which leads to rigidity.(2)The core rigidity of the enterprise is that managers react negatively in the face of potential stubbornness,and do not deal with potential stubbornness due to family benefits,managers' oversight and lack of risk awareness,which leads to a rigid situation.(3)In a moderately dynamic environment,management cognition tends to be positive,while in a fast changing environment,management cognition tends to be negative.By explaining how the core competence of an organization gradually becomes rigidity,this article explores the interactive relationship between management cognition and potentially rigidity processing,constructs a theoretical model of management cognition how to create a core rigidity,and expands the scope of the study of core rigidity theory,At the same time,it puts forward suggestions on how to avoid the core rigidity and form a sustainable competitive advantage for the enterprises led by the managers.
