Simulation Research Of Buffer Inventory Control In Supply Chain Based On Supply-hub

With the rapid development of the economy of global market,the market competition is no longer among enterprises but among supply chains.Collaboration between partners becomes one of the important issues in supply chain management.Among them,the inventory collaboration is a main concept of supply chain collaborative operation management and a key factor of successful implementation.In an assembly supply chain,the product is often assembled by thousands of components supplied by hundreds of suppliers.This feature makes the supply logistics in assembly supply chain operate difficultly as well as the collaborative operation;the shortage or arrival delay of some parts will affect the whole supply chain.Therefore,adopting some coordination mechanism to achieve the supply chain collaboration is very meaningful.Supply-hub is a new supply chain collaborative operation mode developed from enterprises' practice,which can solve the collaborative problems of assembly supply chain in a proper way.Firstly,by summarizing the research situation of supply chain management,supply chain collaboration and Supply-hub model,the main purpose and content were proposed;the related basic theory was summarized,and the concept,the management ideas and the operational process of Supply-hub were specially introduced.Secondly,the basic ideas and the main characters of Supply-hub inventory collaboration were analyzed;the inventory collaborative operation frame was established,and the buffer inventory operational mechanism was discussed.Thirdly,on the basis of three-level supply chain composed by manufacturer,Supply-hub and suppliers,ExtendSim was used to establish and simulate the buffer inventory control model,and then by comparing the impacts on system effective output and availability from different parts or products matching and customer needs to study the decision making of buffer inventory control in supply logistics system.Finally,the advantages and value of Supply-hub to VMI in buffer inventory controlling were validated and some reasonable decisions were proposed for Supply-hub's practical implementation.
