Research On The Poverty Reduction Effect Of Tourism In The Qinba Mountainous Area Of ​​Sichuan Based On The PSTR Model

Since there is a high spatial coupling between tourism resources-rich areas and poverty-stricken areas,the government has always taken tourism development as an important means to promote poverty alleviation and poverty reduction in poverty-stricken areas.With the implementation of a large number of practice of tourism development aimed at poverty reduction,the effect of tourism on poverty reduction has been a hot topic for scholars.This paper starts from the relationship between tourism and poverty,and on the basis of reviewing the mechanism and related theories of tourism development to poverty reduction,it is found that the current research on tourism development to poverty reduction is mainly based on a linear framework.However,as a comprehensive industry involving a wide range of industries,the development of tourism is affected and constrained by a variety of factors.On the other hand,due to the existence of spatial heterogeneity,the effects of tourism development on poverty reduction may be significant different under different environments and conditions.whereas the relationship between tourism development and poverty reduction is complex,there may be a non-linear relationship between tourism development and poverty alleviation.In addition,poverty is a multi-dimensional concept.After the analysis of the mechanisms through which tourism development contributes to poverty alleviation,it can be known that tourism development has a multi-dimensional poverty reduction effect.Tourism development can not only directly affect the poor by providing opportunities of employment and income,but also improve the transportation,medical and other infrastructure by promoting local economic growth.Therefore,based on the comprehensive measure and analysis of the multidimensional poverty in Sichuan Qinba Mountain area,this paper constructs the model of panel smooth transition regression to analyze the non-linear effect of tourism development on poverty alleviation.Through an empirical study on the effect of tourism development to the poverty reduction in Sichuan Qinba Mountainous area,it is found that the relationship between tourism development and poverty alleviation is complex,and there is a non-linear effect of tourism development on poverty reduction.The conclusions are as follows:(1)There is a non-linear relationship between tourism development and poverty alleviation in the Sichuan Qinba Mountainous Area.When the level of tourism development is lower than a certain threshold,tourism development will impede the poverty alleviation in the county.Only when the level of tourism development exceeds a certain threshold,tourism development will have a positive effect on poverty alleviation.In addition,the level of local economic development will also affect the poverty reduction of tourism.With the improvement of economic development level,the influence of economic development on poverty alleviation weakens,the influence of tourism development on poverty alleviation increases.and when the level of economic development crosses a certain threshold,tourism development will significantly promote regional poverty alleviation.(2)Tourism development has always contributed to slow down the poverty level of county economy dimension.However,the tourism development is negatively related to the economic poverty in the county.With the improvement of tourism development level,the influence coefficient of tourism development to county economic poverty weakens,and the optimization of local industrial structure will bring more significant positive effect to the alleviation of county economic poverty.(3)Tourism development is positively correlated with social poverty alleviation,when the level of tourism development is in the low regime,the tourism development on the social dimension of poverty alleviation will be inhibited.With the improvement of tourism development level,the social effect of county tourism reducing poverty will gradually appears when crossing certain threshold value.At present,the tourism development level of the counties in Qinba Mountain area of Sichuan has crossed the threshold value,tourism development has positive social effect on the poverty alleviation,but the effect of tourism development on the poverty alleviation is quite weak,and the promotion of the social effects of tourism on poverty alleviation requires a long-term developing process compared with the economic effect of tourism on poverty alleviation.
