The Use Of Suzhou Embroidery Craftsmanship In The Creation Of Clothing Paintings

Suzhou Embroidery and Fashion Illustration are two different art forms.Suzhou Embroidery is an indispensable component of Chinese traditional embroidery.The craft of Suzhou Embroidery lies in the artistic effect of displaying images by using the needle as a pen to lead the thread and using thread to show colors.Using painting as its basic method,Fashion Illustration is an art form which represents themes of characters and costumes and emphasizes the representation of various painting techniques and the overall picture effect.Considering the diversity of modern art and the combination of a variety of arts to express art forms,the author integrates Suzhou Embroidery into the creation of Fashion Illustration,using the artistic effect of Suzhou Embroidery to enrich the content of Fashion Illustration,which explores the combination of traditional craft and painting.This paper mainly discusses the theoretical research and creation practice of Suzhou Embroidery and researches the application of Suzhou Embroidery in Fashion Illustration and the presentation of picture effect.On the one hand,the author focuses on the production process and stitching method of Suzhou Embroidery and analyzes its artistic effect.On the other hand,the author applies Suzhou Embroidery to graduation thesis in order to completely represent the picture effect of her graduation creation and enrich the content of pictures.In her creation,the author tries out Suzhou Embroidery on paper,analyzes the respective strengths and weaknesses of paper embroidery and cloth embroidery,concludes the problems occurring in her creation and the corresponding solutions and reflects on the remaining problems and the limitations in her research,which will benefit her future study and creation.
