Acetate(CDA)is the second largest renewable fiber,which is used as cigarette filter materials by more than 85% of countries around the world because it has many advantages,such as stronger thermal stability,better adsorption ability to particles in cigarette smoke and strong suction resistance.In recent years,with the intensified competition in the tobacco industry,the decrease of organic solvents in the cigarette filter has become the new research hot point.In this paper,the epoxidized soybean oil(ESO),esters acetyl tributyl citrate(ATBC)were adopted as plasticizers,the physical modification of cellulose diacetate was carried out,and distance between acetate fiber glass transition temperature(Tg)and the decomposition temperature(Tm)was undrawed,and then cigarette filter tow with good performance was produced by melting method to solve the difficult problem of residues of organic solvents in cigarette filter.The results of this study are as follows:(1)Added different plasticizers in CDA,and influence of different proportions of ESO to ATBC in CDA was studied.FTIR and DSC analysis showed that plasticizer epoxidized soybean oil and acetyl tributyl citrate esters had no effect on CDA chemical structure,while had clear effect on crystallization properties of CDA.(2)TG analysis showed that the temperature of decomposing and volatilization of two types of plasticizers was higher than that of melt spinning,so there existed no volatilization of plasticizers in the spinning process.(3)The melt index test and spinning test proved that the spinning performance gradually improved with the addition of the epoxy soybean oil and the acetyl citrate.The strength of the composite acetate and the elongation rate of the fracture were decreased under excess amount of plasticizers,which could cause the spinning process to fracture.It was proved that the spinning performance of composite acetate fiber was the best when the proportion of plasticizer was 30%.Comprehensively,compound cellulose diacetate was gained by adding 15% of ESO and 15% of ATBC to CDA,which had better spinning performance and can solve the residual problem of organic solvent in cigarette filter.
