Titanium concentrates are an important raw material used in the production of titanium sponge and titanium dioxide.In recent years,the consumption of titanium sponge and titanium dioxide has been increasing,and the demand for titanium slag has been increasing year by year.The main production method of titanium concentrates is high titanium slag via electric furnace smelting.The good melting properties and the good effects of the slag-iron separation are key during the melting process,in order to ensure smooth production,lower production cost,and high quality of the product.The viscous flow characteristics of the high titanium slag in the furnace at high temperature are particularly important.In this study,The Einstein-Roscoe equation was used to study the thermodynamic simulation of high titanium slag via Fact Sage 7.0 software.The effects that the temperature,component and solid particles had on the melting temperature and the viscosity of high titanium slag were studied.The main conclusions of this article are as follows:(1)When the high titanium slag is completely molten,the viscosity of the high titanium slag did not change significantly.The viscosity of high titanium slag was 85 m Pa·s~135 m Pa·s.When the temperature is lower than the melting temperature,solid particles are precipitated in the titanium slag.As the temperature decreases,the amount of precipitated solid particles increases sharply,the viscosity increases rapidly,and the flow properties drastically decrease.Temperature is the most critical factor affecting the viscosity of titanium slag.The viscosity-temperature curve of high titanium slag has a distinct turning point,and high titanium slag has a short slag characteristic.(2)In the system of ternary titanium slag,as the content of FeO,CaO,MnO or MgO increases,the melting temperature and viscosity of the ternary titanium slag show a decreasing trend;the melting temperature of the ternary titanium slag is about1655?~ 1705?.The order of influence of the melting temperature is MgO> CaO>FeO> MnO,and the order of influence of viscosity is MnO> FeO> MgO> CaO.(3)In the system of six-component titanium slag,with the increase of the MgO component content,the melting temperature of the six-component titanium slag decreases first and then increases.With the increase of FeO,CaO or MnO content,the melting temperature and viscosity of the six-component titanium slag are reduced.The melting temperature of the six-component titanium slag is 1615?~1660?.The order of influence of the melting temperature is CaO>FeO>MnO,And the order of influence of viscosity is MnO>FeO>CaO.
