Recently,with economic globalization and product diversification,for manufacturing companies,there are more and more pressure on supply chain management.How to reduce operation cost and improve customer satisfaction? It becomes a big challenge to each manufacturing company.So now you can see more and more projects which aimed to improve supply chain management efficiency by optimizing production scheduling.And according to survey results,currently there are many companies already applied some of them on schedule optimization and succeed on hitting the goal of supply chain optimization,including increasing gross inventory turn,improving production line productivity and so on.Company T is a USA company,which produces adhesive tape and protective films.Recently,with the rapid changes in the market and the emergency of local companies,Company T's competitive pressures have gradually increased.So now it's very important to Company T to keep high competitiveness and maintain its market share.And to customers,they will choose suppliers who will provide lower price or better service with same performance.Comparing to actual situation,Company T decided the direction of optimizing production scheduling,and hope by lesson learning from other successful case to reduce operation cost and improve service performance by optimizing production schedule to increase competitiveness.Base on this,this article will take production scheduling of Company T as research object,optimize production scheduling sequences and lead time of sales orders,and initiate related processes.This research will mainly including below 3 major aspects:First of all,analyze current status of supply chain management and production scheduling of Company T.Determine project “DBR management method base on theory of TOC by learning from success cases of other companies”by SWOT.Second,introduce detail steps of optimization project applied in Company T.Find the bottleneck resource and set up buffer by the DBR based on TOC.According to DBR,set up production schedule sequence and rules of scheduling for each production line.And then calculate production lead time using the queue theory and optimize lead time based on optimized production scheduling sequence.Initiate related process and rules to make sure effectively implementation of this project and improve efficiency of information transferring.Last,make evaluation to implementation result of production scheduling optimization project.According to data analysis of project application,comparing with the data before implementation,the inventory cost decreased and there are increasing on the production productivity and customer service quality.So those data proved that production scheduling optimization project can help improve supply chain management efficiency of Company T.By the way,core concept of this project of Company T also can be applied on other multi-process manufacturing companies.They can base on their own situation and make their own project with similar concept to optimize supply chain management and production scheduling.
