Phenol as an organic water pollutant poses a huge threat to the environment and human health. It has the characteristics of refractory, highly toxic, and prone easy to secondary pollution.Eelectrochemical advanced oxidation processes Electrocatalytic Advanced Oxidation Technology?EAOPs?is a treatment technology that utilizes the active interaction of anode and cathode to generate free radicals and other active substances, which can catalytically degrade organic matter. However, there are problems such as cathode instability and low efficiency in the degradation process,so the research of stable and efficient cathode has become a hot spot. The biomass carbon obtained by the treatment of biomass has excellent pore structure, stability and good electrical conductivity,so it is to be studied as an EAOPs cathode. This paper uses reed straw as a carbon source. The reed straw activated carbon material?RSAC?was prepared by carbonization and activation.Nitrogen-doped manganese dioxide/reed straw activated carbon?N-MnO2/RSAC?composites were prepared by coprecipitation, carbonization and activation methods using urea as nitrogen source and potassium permanganate as manganese source.Because the pore structure of the reed straw itself has been treated by further heat, alkali and load modification, the material has a specific surface area of up to 2346.88 cm2 g-1 and3434.81 cm2 g-1.And the two cathode materials prepared were rich in active sites and oxygen-containing functional groups, and good electrical conductivity, which effectively ensures the electrocatalytic activity and the yield of free radicals of the materials.N and MnO2 were successfully loaded onto the reed straw carbon, which improved the stability and oxygen reduction of the reed straw carbon. An electric degradation system was established by using RSAC material and N-MnO2/RC composite as cathode and Ti/TrO2/RuO2 network as anode.Electrocatalytic study on phenol simulated wastewater was carried out,and a reasonable explanation was given for its degradation mechanism. The results show that when the current density is 30 mA cm–2,the initial pH of the solution is the pH value of the system, and the electrolyte concentration is 0.1 mol L–1,the phenol with an initial concentration of 100 mg L–1 was degraded for 120 min.The degradation rate of the RSAC cathode was 93.06%,the COD decreased from 323.70 mg L–1 to 95.48 mg L–1within 6 h;the degradation rate of N-MnO2/RSAC composite cathode was 97.35%,and the COD from 300.20 mg L–1 drops to to 42.69 mg L–1 within 5 h.
