With the speed development of society and advanced science and technology,and improvement of people's quality of life.The need and demand of people for textile are getting higher and higher.In pursuit of multi-functional textiles,the production process of non-toxic,environmental protection and energy-saving also has attracted more and more attention from the society.Therefore,the multi-functional textiles of efficient,energy-saving and non-toxic have become the mainstream of textile Innovation and development.This topic use dicyandiamide,diethanol amine and phosphorus oxide as raw material to synthesis a novel antibacterial and flame retardant named N,N-di(ethyl phosphate)biguanide(DPG).The DPG endowed the cotton fabrics with excellent antibacterial property and flame retardancy.The FT-IR spectra showed that the DPG was successfully synthesized.We measured the LOI,bacteriostatic zone,antimicrobial percentage,breaking strength,whiteness and washable to choose the optimum finishing process for the treated cotton fabrics with DPG.The cotton fabrics were treated in the 200 g/L DPG solutions at 75?in the thermostatic water bath,and added the urea(3%),the 30 g/L BTCA and 1%Sodium hypophosphite.Then the impregnated cotton fabrics passed through a nip rendering with two dips and two nips to reach a wet pickup of 80%.Finally,the treated cotton fabrics were dried at 80?for 3 min and cured at 140?for 3 min to obtain the DPG-cotton fabrics.The cotton fabric treated with the optimum process showed the limiting oxygen index(LOI)of31.2%,damaged carbon length of 3.4 cm,and the antimicrobial percentage of Escherichia coli and the Staphylococcus aureus were 99.04%and 99.76%,respectively.At the same time,the breaking strength and whiteness of the finished cotton fabric decreased slightly.After 30laundering cycles(LCs),the antimicrobial percentage remained at 77.45%and 80.40%,and the LOI value still had 26.9%.These results proved that the DPG not only had excellent antibacterial properties and flame retardancy,but also had strong durability.By cone calorimeter test,TG test,SEM,EDS and FT-IR of carbon residue of treated cotton fabric.we analysis thermal stability,combustion behavior,char-forming mechanism.The results showed that the initial cracking temperature of the treated cotton fabric is declined,and the carbon residue rate of treated cotton fabrics is increased.The treated samples showed the PHRR of 66.7 KW/m~2,the EHC of 16.6 MJ/kg,the PEHC of 2.3 MJ/kg and the mass loss of 3.89 g.the DPG-treated sample's THR and EHC values all decreased.The TTI of the DPG-treated cotton fabric could reach 31 s,indicating the extremely flame retardancy of the DPG-treated cotton fabrics.
