Ionic liquids are organic molten salts with many unique properties,such as low melting point,low vapor pressure and good thermal stability.However,its development is limited by existed drawbacks.As poly(ionic liquid)s possess the properties both of ionic liquids and of polymer materials,they overcome limitations of single materials and greatly expand the application range of ionic liquids.Up to now,poly(ionic liquid)s have been studied and applied in many fields including electrochemistry,chemical synthesis,catalysis,adsorption and separation,biomedicine,solid phase extraction and chromatography.Nevertheless,as a novel type of material,the understanding and study of poly(ionic liquid)s are still in its infancy.In this paper,two preparation methods of poly(ionic liquid)porous microspheres are introduced.And their applications in high performance chromatographic separation and organic dyes adsorption are studied.The results are listed as follow.1.The novel imidazole poly(ionic liquid)porous microspheres are prepared by directly polymerizing with ionic liquid monomers.Influential factors,including swelling degree and crosslinking degree,on the morphology,monodispersity,pore size and structure and specific surface area of porous poly(ionic liquid)microspheres are systematically investigated.Monodisperse porous imidazole poly(ionic liquid)microspheres are used as mixed-mode high performance liquid chromatographic stationary phase for separating benzene and its homologues and nucleosides and alkaloids in reversed phase liquid chromatography and hydrophilic interaction chromatography,respectively.Ideal separations are achieved through optimizing separation conditions via adjusting the ratio of mobile phase components.2.The novel pyridine poly(ionic liquid)porous microspheres are prepared by modifying of porous and crosslinking poly(vinylpyridine)microspheres.Influential factors,including size and monodispersity of seed particles,swelling degree and crosslinking degree,on the morphology,monodispersity,pore size and structure and specific surface area of porous poly(ionic liquid)microspheres are systematically investigated.The application of porous pyridine poly(ionic liquid)microspheres in dye adsorption has also been studied in this paper.As organic dye adsorbents,they are confirmed having excellent selective adsorption capacity on absorbing anionic dyes.And adsorption effect under different conditions is also explored.Thus,pyridine poly(ionicliquid)microspheres can be seen as a kind of sensitive adsorbent for absorbing organic dyes.
