Today, the pace of launching new product will have direct impact on the core competitive strength and survival of an enterprise, with the shorter updating cycle of auto product. All the auto makers in the world are applying the modern project management into new product development project with the purpose of shortening product development cycle, reducing development cost and improve competitive strength. The project management has already been successfully applied into auto product development by foreign auto makers. In Europe,U.S.and Japan, the auto makers have taken project management as their standard management method. However,Chinese automakers haven't established a systematic and efficient project management mode and the management for development project is still in initial stage. Therefore,it is of great significance to enhance overall development level of China's auto industry by exploring and researching a project management mode which fits self-development of China's auto product. In this paper,I analyze the basic program management theory, organization structure, management process and critical management method.Based on the cycle life management and concurrent engineering theory,I propose the new program management method for China auto design industry.Based on the experience and deficiency on auto maker C,I present the countermeasures and advices for its future self-development project management.Focus on the early stages of project planning, project organization structure and team member selection, program timing creation and key gateway review, which drive the new project development on time. This proposal has certain reference significance to C company independent research and development project management. Also it is helpful to our entire national automobile enterprises.
