Competitive Strategy Research Of Huadian Electric Power Research Institute

In 2002,the State Council issued the reform scheme of electric power system to optimize and restructure the state-owned power enterprises.The research institute of electric power industry entered the competition situation.With the recent development of the power industry,power supply mode has changed,the power supply tasks are more difficult,the calls of green energy and requirements of environmental protection are becoming higher.To ensure that the research institutes can survive and have long-term development,the primary problem must be solved is the lack of awareness of necessary competitive,cultivating their own characteristics,establishing a corporate brand and enhancing corporate influence and competitiveness in the electric power industry.China Hua Dian Electric power Research institute(CHDER)has been established in 2009.And its employees has developed from 100 to almost 1000 now.As a up-and-coming youngster,it has a strong momentum of development.But there are still some problems,for example,most of its business are basic service,which has low technical content and influence,not good for its persistent development.For the moment CHDER has been divided from China Hua Dian Engineering CO.,LTD,and been promoted directly under China Hua Dian Corporation,which has the top natural gas power generation capacity in the five major power enterprises.The primary problem to become bigger and stronger is to take good advantage of the huge platform,conform to the situation of national policy,seize the opportunity,develop core technology and change the opportunity type development to the strategic development.Taking CHDER as research object,this paper analyzes its external and internal environments,strengths and weaknesses,opportunities and threats by PEST,SWOT,EFE and IFE analysis.On this basis,it turns out that diversified competition strategy is the best choice for CHDER.
