| Since the reform and opening up,China’s urbanization level has been greatly improved.By the end of 2019,China’s urbanization rate had reached 60.06%,exceeding 60% for the first time.Although China’s urbanization process has made great achievements,compared with developed countries,China’s urbanization level still has a lot of room for improvement.At the same time,in the past 40 years and more,China has been vigorously developing the economy,and cities have also been expanding,which inevitably leads to problems such as unordered urban expansion and low land use efficiency.The operational efficiency and functional structure of cities are important conditions for the normal operation of social life.Therefore,how the city should adopt the way of development is worth thinking about.The emergence of compact city theory is to solve the problem of urban sprawl.It is the core development goal of compact city theory to develop public transport to improve urban operation efficiency and reduce energy consumption.Combined with the current situation of urban development in China,this paper focuses on the research of whether the compact city theory can improve the problems in the process of urbanization in China,and whether it can alleviate energy stress and improve the environment by reducing energy consumption.Therefore,this paper selects the economic,population,public facilities and other data of 36 major cities in China from 2008 to 2017,adopts the method of entropy value weighting,and through the establishment of a comprehensive evaluation index system,calculates the comprehensive evaluation value of city compactness of major cities,and makes a preliminary understanding of the compactness of cities in China.Study found that among 36 major cities throughout the country,according to the city of compact degree of the comprehensive evaluation value should be divided into three gradient,compact degree of value in the upper reaches of the city known as the compact city,in the middle of the city called weakly compact city,in the downstream of the city known as the compact city,sample compact city accounted for 30.56% in the city,and weakly compact city accounted for 44.44%,is not compact city accounted for 25%;From the perspective of time and space,the comprehensive evaluation value of compactness of 36 major cities in China shows an increasing trend with the change of time.According to the classification of east and west regions,it is found that the mean value of compactness comprehensive evaluation of eastern cities is greater than that of central cities,while the mean value of compactness comprehensive evaluation of central cities is greater than that of western cities.At the same time,this paper adopts stochastic frontier analysis to construct Shephard distance function,and USES the stochastic frontier model based on energy distance function to calculate the total factor energy efficiency of the sample cities.It is found that the energy efficiency of major cities in China is concentrated in the range of 0.4~0.8,and there is a large room for energy efficiency improvement.From the perspective of time trend,energy efficiency values of 35 major cities in China all show a downward trend.At the regional level,the energy efficiency level of sample cities shows a trend of gradual increase from west to east.Finally,an empirical study on the relationship between city compactness and energy efficiency shows that the coordination degree of city compactness and energy efficiency in China shows a trend of "rising first and then falling" in the time series,and the curve shows an "inverted U shape".The overall coordination relationship between the two indicators is dominated by "moderate coordination".Regionally,the coordination relationship between eastern cities is better than that between western cities and western cities is better than that between central cities. |
