Field Research Methods is used in this research, including the observation, the analyzation to the institution and the work of Beijing People’ s Mediation Committee of Medical Dispute(here in after referred to as "BPMCMD").It also collected and analysed the data of more than 3000 cases.According to the analyzation and combining the Literature research, the suggestion and countermeasures has been given. The illustration of the data analyzation:most of the mediators in th PMCMD are female, and most are above 55 years old.Although the discipline of more than 50%of the mediators is medical, but few has the high degree. The closed volume and the success rate is in upward trend. The average time and amount is also reasonable. From the angle of the PMCMD,the most of the medical disputes happen in the third-hospital,especially in the some main lager-scale hospitals. The orthopedics, neurology, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology and so on are main department. The difference of the hospital factors, mediator factors, patient factors on the success rate, time and amount is not obvious. The research thought that the work efficiency of PMCMD is stable, the success rate is rising. But it also has some problems, including the mediators are too old,few mediators has the higher degree, the scope of people’ s mediation is not definite, the mediation model is not transparent and other problems. The research suggest that the PMCMD should transform the recognition to build the mediator procession, should pay much attention to cultivate the medical knowledge of the mediators, should take some measures to attract more special staffs who have different special knowledge and the other effective measures in order to do more much contribution to the development of PMCMD and construct the harmonious relationship between hospital and the patient.
